Hey all you procrastinating creative cats... it's 2012, time to act! For those of us in artistic disciplines, a decision to act takes on special significance. Making art often requires stretches of solitude and lacks the usual deadlines and external accountability that are built into other parts of life (day job, school etc). Thus it's all the easier to fall into traps of procrastination, self doubt, and apathy, and watch our ideas fall to the wayside without ever cultivating them to fruition.
January 2012 marks the start of a bi-weekly group for individuals seeking to complete a particular artistic goal and finally dedicate the time required to do so. All creative goals welcome: writing a first draft of a novel, recording an album, making a short film, building one's acting or design portfolio, etc etc. You will commit to spending 5-10 hrs per week working on it. Every two weeks over a 5 month period, we'll meet up to share and chart our progress, fellowship, and spend some time in prayer. Besides participation in these ways, all that is required is a willing spirit. What exciting things will we have accomplished by the end of May?
The meeting will happen every other Monday, 7-9pm at the City Grace Offices, beginning January 16th.
